Before undertaking a thorough tour of the centre, there is an opening presentation and an opportunity for the guests to ask the guides any questions they might have. The tour is done by experienced guides, on open safari vehicles, and lasts for 2 hours. The lion, cheetah, African wild dog, Ground hornbill, Sable antelope and African wild cat are just some of the animals that can be found at HESC, in environments closely mimicking their natural habitats.
In addition to getting a close view of these beautiful creatures, guests also have the chance to witness the scarce African vultures feeding at the Vulture Restaurant.
Following are the starting times of the standard tours and peak season tours: Standard hours: 09:00 / 11:00 / 13:00 / 15:00 National holiday season and public holidays: 08:00 / 10:00 / 12:00 / 14:00 / 16:00

Very informative and we learnt alot with regards to the animals. Loved the funny stories associated with the animals. Our guide has a wonderful sense of humour and the time went really too quickly. Thank you and we hope to return again in the future.

The guide was reluctant to share information. He made a derogatory comment before we started not knowing that we understood Afrikaans. We did not see the King Cheetahs and didn’t get time to view the other cheetahs. I have visited the sanctuary before and have done the tour before and will not again. We had lunch after the tour. The lady is unfriendly and the food was mediocre. Altogether not worth the time or money. Theo le Roux
