More about Jonkershoek Waterfall Hike

Jonkershoek is Stellenbosch nature's gem, tucked away in the mountains it is easy to miss. This is the perfect playground for any nature enthusiast alike. Join us on a hiking adventure at your own comfort level as Jonkershoek has plenty to offer from "easy, not to strenuous" hikes to "this is almost mountaineering" in difficulty.

Quick route description The start of the Second waterfall hike sits deep into the Jonkershoek valley. Gradual at the beginning with a well-maintained sandy path we will pass the first waterfall visible from far on the approach. With a quick stop and possible swim on the warmer days, we will carry on to the second waterfall. Just before we enter the kloof there are a few quick steps up and over before we arrive at the river. From here we follow the river to the origin up the kloof the start of the Eerste Rivier. The route follows the same way back out as in.
