Surf Life SA is a mobile surf school based at Eden on the Bay, Cape Town, South Africa. Established in 2013, our surf coaches have 14 years surf coaching experience and taught hundreds of people from all walks of life the fundamentals of surfing.
Situated an estimated 20 – 30 minute car drive from Cape Town city center toward the West Coast, traveling to Eden on the Bay has a beautiful scenic drive with Table Mountain as your background view. Cape Town is one of the world’s top and best travel destinations where people travel to each year.
Beaches around the city, east and west coast offer some of the greatest surf spots with a variety of beginner to more advanced surf spots. There is a wave for any level of surfer. The team of qualified surf coaches are passionate about surfing, quality coaching & service, nature and people. Seeing the progression of every surf student during each lesson encourages us and fuels our passion even more.
You don’t need past surf experience to take your first lesson. We take you through a journey of learning about your surf equipment, type of waves & surf breaks, ocean & surfboard safety, surf etiquette, wave riding and more. Take the first step to experiencing one of the greatest feelings in the world, riding your first wave.
For the beginner who’s had a few lessons before but want to improve or the intermediate surfer who wants to sharpen their craft, Surf Life SA is the school for YOU!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Cornell and her team in Big Bay over the Christmas holidays. Cornell was a wonderful instructor --- patient, encouraging and genuinely inspiring. Over the course of three to four lessons, she helped my son Kai make real progress, building both his skills and, just as importantly, his confidence in the water. Cornell was extremely accommodating with our changing availability and lesson timings, and on several occasions went well beyond the scheduled lesson time, adapting to wave conditions and to Kai's progress on the day. That flexibility and commitment made a huge difference. Thanks to her approach, Kai is now genuinely excited about surfing and keen to continue improving. We will definitely be back for more lessons with Cornell on future trips to Cape Town, and we would highly recommend her and her team to anyone --- especially families --- looking for high-quality, supportive and enjoyable surf instruction.
