Our highly experienced crew will take to the helm so you can relax and take in the splendour of our rugged coastline; sailing, salt air and scenery all an exhilarating combination.
Knysna is one of South Africa’s premier whale watching destinations, its indigo depths teeming with hundreds of migrating whales. Ocean Odyssey is the only Close Encounter Whale Watching permit holder for the Greater Knysna area. Throughout the year we also offer Marine Eco-Tours. We are passionate about showcasing both the whales that frequent our local waters as well as the many other fascinating species that exist within the complex web of marine life. Great experience! We were super lucky to see a mating ritual. We were impressed at the skill that the captain used to get us out of the estuary and into open sea given the waves. This type of smaller boat rally provides the flexibility to move fast to where the whales are and the whole spotting system set up is really helpful

We had a wonderful ride and have seen a lot of whales, some see lions and a wonderful landscape. Please remind that in August it is cold and windy, clothing should be according to these conditions. The teams has explained interesstings things about the whales
