Dyer Island Cruises proudly offers a unique Marine Big 5 Safari in the picturesque fishing town of Gansbaai, nestled in the Overberg region. During whale season you may well see all 5, being, the Southern Right Whale, Great White Shark, Seals, Penguins and dolphins.
Founded in 2000 by Wilfred Chivell as the first-whale watching business in the region. Dyer Island Cruises is a leader in its field and has made great contributions to marine conservation as well as unrivaled knowledge of the marine eco-systems in the area.

Really enjoyable and informative tour - having a marine biologist on board makes a big difference to the experience. All the arrangements for booking, pick up in Hermanus, checking in etc were efficient (apart from a slight miscommunication about the fact our original tour time had been brought forward) We saw a great variety of sea and bird life - the visit to the seal colony and seeing sharks were the highlights for me, but it was all great. Every single member of the team was approachable, friendly and knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend this tour!

It was just the most amazing experience one could hope for! We were welcomed and offered a drink and muffins and had a lovely meal after the tour. A very informative talk followed after introductions. The boat excursion was just superb.. loads of interesting information and Dyer Island and Shark Alley are unforgettable.. Please keep your up work to protect the precious marine reserve, of behalf of all of us and future generations.
