Explore the wonders of the Grootbos Florilegium, situated in one of the most biodiverse biomes on the planet. Grootbos Private Nature Reserve has a deep connection to the Cape Floral Kingdom it calls home. The Grootbos Reserve is home to over 922 species of fynbos and has served as a custodian of the precious region for 25 years.
Together with the Grootbos Foundation, Grootbos Private Nature Reserve is continuously researching, innovating and pioneering new ways to conserve and promote the region’s natural wealth. The Grootbos Florilegium is a culmination of efforts to document, conserve and protect the Cape Floral Kingdom. Grootbos has always been committed to the preservation of the region’s rare, endemic and endangered plants. Now, art has been chosen as a vehicle to instil a passion for South Africa’s botanical heritage.
This collection of beautiful, distinctive botanical art pieces is intended to reach a broader audience by engaging people on an emotional level, and inspiring them to become ambassadors for conserving and promoting the Cape Floral Kingdom and the majesty of the Cape fynbos.

My three friends and I had a fabulous experience! It was a cold and rainy but Daniel and his assistant Leno took excellent care of us providing blankets, hot water bottles and large green waterproof ponchos. Daniel is an excellent guide, so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We examined many exquisite plants. Had much fun even in the rain! The tour of the Florilegium took our breath away! My friends had not been before and were stunned by the outstanding att and the vision and mission of its creation. this is my third visit I and I grow in appreciation ? We enjoyed our fynbos meal and the creativity of the menu items snd subtle flavors.

We had a fantastic tour and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious forage lunch at Bellavista afterwards. Would definitely recommend it!
