Areena Riverside Resort is situated on the banks of the Kwelera tidal river, a mere 5km from the mouth of the river. You will find a lovely beach at the mouth, Yellow Sands beach, a popular and well known surf spot, easily accessible by canoe from our family resort. There is nothing quite like the view going down river on a relaxing paddle. A refundable R50 cash deposit per paddle is required.

A friend and I booked a half day kayak trip and we absolutely loved it. It was a gorgeous day and the area could not be more beautiful. Guide Guy also paid attention to our kayaking skills and made sure we got the hang of it and were comfortable as needed. Definitely worth making the trip again to Areena.
