Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre in Plettenberg Bay is home to some of Africa’s rarest and majestic wild cats. On our guided tours guests can get up close to cheetah, leopard, serval and caracal to name a few. Blue cranes, marabou storks and meerkats can also be seen.

Grab the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join the cheetahs on a walk through the soaring Tsitsikamma forest. We are committed to protecting these incredible animals and educating people about them. We found the proximity to all the big cats amazing plus access to more than just the cheetah. Seeing the leopard eat so close above us was unforgetable. The cheetah walk itself was exhilirating. Having a small group meant it was a more personal experience as we took it in turns to follow the cheetah. We were absolutely delighted with the whole experience.

One of the highlights of our recent visit to South Africa was our visit to Tenwika, and to accompany the cheetah, ZIMBALI, as she took her early morning walk. As it was early, and no other visitors, we were privileged to be the only two visitors with her, along with the two knowledgable rangers. Worth pre-booking. An amazing experience.
