More about 2-day 'Stoked like a Local'

This is the perfect weekend escape for those looking for a taste of the surfing lifestyle along with enjoying the best local experiences in the area. You will be based at accommodation located right at Muizenberg beach (only 40 minutes from Cape Town city center).

We will surf two different beaches along the False Bay coast, explore unique local attractions and enjoy meals from the coolest local restaurants. We will teach you the basics of surfing from paddling to standing up, how to read the waves and surfing etiquette. By the end of these two days, you’ll be comfortable in the surf and have experienced the best wines, views and food through the eyes of a local.

See you soon!

8 hours

Once monthly on the following weekends: 13-14 April; 11-12 May; 22-23 June; 20-21 July; 24-25 August; 21-22 September; 19-20 October; 16-17 November; 14-15 December

On Saturday, we will collect you from one of our city pick up locations between 08:00-08:45am and transfer you to Strand beach for your first lesson. We will then move on to the accommodation in Muizenberg where we will base ourselves for the rest of the weekend and surf the remaining lessons and do the other included activities from there. We will drop you back at one of our city pick up locations at approximately 6pm on Sunday.

Please note surf camps will run regardless of weather. We are at the mercy of the elements and these can not be determined at the time of scheduling camp dates for the year. We base our decision whether to operate the camp surf lessons according to wind, tide and swell charts. We typically DO NOT cancel surf lessons because of rain. You're going to get wet anyway. Besides it's the most fun you can have outdoors in the rain! And if for any reason we can't surf one of the surf camp lessons, we will find something else that is fun for you to fill the time.

What to Wear:

For each lesson please wear a swimsuit and apply sunscreen in advance if possible. On day 1, please keep your towel and change of dry clothing in an easily accessible compartment of your bag as we will start the day with a surf lesson en route to the accommodation.

Things to bring:

waterproof suncreen (zinc and or ‘Island Tribe’ recommended); towel; bathing suit/boardshorts; warm jacket; sandals; bottle of water; cash (for refreshments & lunch on day 1 & optional yoga lesson)

Guests or Spectators:

Only full paying guests will be allowed on the vehicle and in the lessons. Non-surfers may only join at the full camp price.
