The evolution of cheetahs can be traced back 4 million years. The Cheetah Outreach not only provides employment opportunities for locals, but also excellent opportunities for South African and international volunteers. So come and meet these speedy predators.
Helderberg region: Helderberg means “clear mountain” in Afrikaans. In the Helderberg there are 3 towns, Somerset West, Strand and Gordans Bay. Jagged peaks of the surrounding mountains and the sea , False Bay. Humbling in their stature, looming protectively over this picturesque settlement. Numerous grapes are grown in the region such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, and Pinotage.
We pick up anywhere in the area and take our guests via the world famous Clarence Drive (voted top 3 most scenic drives in South Africa). We stop at the Ocean’s "big 5” viewing spots, to watch for Whales, Dolphins, Seals, Penguins and Sharks from the look-out spots. We will head up via the Steenbras Dam path to the top of the mountain for absolutely spectacular views of sun, sea and land. It offers breathtaking views of Table mountain, the False bay and the Helderberg basin.
