Shore entries are guided by a Pro Dive professional and take place from our beach office, which is ideally situated at Hobie Beach and is one of Port Elizabeth's Blue Flag beaches. An easy shore entry where you can get to see lots of soft coral, a variety of fish especially juveniles, octopus, crabs, sand sharks, shy sharks, and rays. Maximum depth of 7m.

Shark Rock Pier
Depth: 3-8m Qualification: All Levels The Pier is surrounded by small scattered reefs providing an enjoyable shore entry directly in front of the Pro Dive Hobie Beach office. Yellow-Bellied Rock Cod, rays, sandsharks and catfish have been spotted amongst the large sea fans and corals on these patches of reef.
Slipway & Postmans
Depth: 2-8m Qualification: All Levels This is an easy shore entry and great for night dives. The Humewood Slipway is an iron and cement structure that was built as an old dry dock used for ship repairs prior to the construction of the harbour in the 1930s. You can expect to see a wide variety of fish darting amongst the steel structures which are covered in brightly colored sponges, soft corals, and sea fans.
Depth: 3m-8m Qualification: All Levels A short 150m swim to this vibrant reef that plays host to a variety of fish such as Blacktail and Strepies. The reef is made up of tightly cropped soft corals, sponges, seaweeds and sea fans. Numerous rays have been spotted here on the sandy gullies in among the rocky outcrops.
