We had the best time on our horse riding adventure with lunch. Our guide Colens made us feel so relaxed and he was happy and helpful. The hotel where we had afternoon tea/ lunch was stunning, it was like an old colonial type Manor House and the lunch was just perfect and beautifully presented. We all really enjoyed the trip and the horses were well looked after and easy to ride.
We had a fabulous day with Collings on our full day picnic trek. We had snowdrop and snowflake- two sister horses who were brilliant, and clearly very well looked after. The reception area at hog hollow is lovely and cosy with comfy sofas and fire to wait for your ride. Collings was a great guide, good fun and knowledgable about the horses and the local area as well as making us feel very comfortable and safe throughout! We had a great ride into the mountains in the morning, through forests where we saw baboons! Then we went to polo fields where we were able to have a great gallop. We stopped for our picnic lunch at the beautiful Kirkland estate and had the most unbelievable picnic- the food was plentiful and so well presented, it was such a perfect stop! We could have stayed for hours relaxing but managed to get back on the horses (several pounds heavier I imagine!) and continue our ride which was brilliant. We had a great day, thanks to Collings and the rest of the team at hog hollow and we would highly recommend this trip to anyone in the area!
I had a fantastic time on my day picnic trail with my trail guide, Collings. As well as being a very accomplished rider, he always made sure that I was comfortable with the speed that we were going. We had some fantastic canters and at no point, did I feel out of control as the horses are all well trained. We went up to the top of one of the hills and had fantastic views. We also cantered on polo fields. We just had the place to ourselves. At lunchtime, we stopped at Kurland and after tying up the horses, we walked over to the main house. A picnic rug was laid out under a tree with the most delicious picnic. A heart was also drawn in rose petals! I had the best day and would thoroughly recommend the stables to anyone. The horses were well looked after, the equipment and riding hats were clean and very well maintained. I always look at this before I agree to going out on a ride, because if a stable looks after its horses and equipment, there is a good chance that they will look after you. I would definitely do this ride again!
