More about Table Mountain Hike

Table Mountain is the most iconic landmark in Cape Town, so if you’re in this beautiful city, hiking up ‘the mountain’ is a must. It’ll get your heart pumping, and take your breath away with panoramic views you’ll never forget. This hiking trip is suitable for all fitness levels and it is a 2-3 hour hike.

The hike takes you up Platteklip Gorge and returns on the same route. If you’re feeling tired, or want an alternative viewpoint, you can buy a ticket for the cable car and get down in a few minutes. Either way, hiking up Table Mountain is a great experience for any adventurous visitor to Cape Town.

Opinions On Table Mountain Hike

We had an excellent day. We were picked up in the centre of Cape Town and straight away Joel was welcoming and enthusiastic about the day's hike. Joel was very knowledgeable and interesting, explaining some of the recent history of South Africa as well as highlighting views and identifying plants and birds that we could see. As a small group of just 4 people, he adapted the walk to allow us to go to McClears Beacon and then come down by cable car. The packed lunch was substantial and we had plenty to drink on a hot day. All in all it was a very enjoyable day and I would highly recommend this guided walk through Daytrippers.

This was such a great experience and one of my favourite parts of the trip to Cape Town. Our guides were informative and also excellent company which made getting up the mountain that much more enjoyable. We felt it was worth booking!
