More about Classic Cape Cuisine Walk

This Stellenbosch experience is a remarkably unique tour. Founded by Simon van der Stel in 1679, Stellenbosch is the second oldest town in South Africa. Its charm stems from the banks of the Eerste River, which runs down and leads into the exceptional beauty of this spectacular establishment, taking you on a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

The Dutch were some of the first people to set foot on the land and the town is characterized by architectural diversity, including charming thatched Cape Dutch houses, oak-lined streets, colourful history, inspiring outdoor art, magnificent mountain ranges and annual food and cultural festivals.

As your culinary walk begins, you will encounter some of our world-famous wines and savour traditional local cuisine. The town is centred around Stellenbosch University, giving it a vibrant feel. Our experienced guides will lead you through an unforgettable day.

Catherine and Edward Hartshorne

We had such a lovely time on the Cape Cuisine Walk, Hanli was so welcoming and knowledgeable. It was such an amazing way to get to know Stellenbosch and all of the food was stunning. The only down side for us was that we were staying in the Oude Werf hotel and had already eaten in the restaurant , we didn't mind too much because the food and setting was perfect but it would have been nice to try somewhere else. We certainly wouldn't have eaten there the night before if we'd known. Nonetheless we'd thoroughly recommend the tour. Cat and Ed

Mr Dieter EMMERICH

We had a wonderful walk through Stellenbosch with Simone. She told us a lot about her "Dorf", the history and the growth of Stellenbosch. We visited a museum, many interesting points and made a wine tasting. Als we had lunch together with special africans food. At the end we made a tea tasting paired with sweets. It took about 4 h and we enjoyed every minute. Thanks again to Simone. Kind regards Monika and Dieter

We had a lovely time on this tour. Simone was really engaging - it was great to spend time with someone who had such a deep knowledge of Stellenbosch and its surrounds. Food and drink was great, especially lunch! Will recommend.
