What a great day.. A whole day spent on bikes, drinking wine !! what better way to spend a lovely sunny day. We were lucky as there were only 3 of us and all British, we were all around the same fitness so rode happily together.. We booked the Adventure ride which was a 21km ride with 4 wine stops..(we later swapped our last wine stop for a brandy stop- Good choice) The ride was challenging at times and it was HOT but it was such good fun. We had no issues meeting the guys, got collected at Stellenbosch and taken to collect our bikes which were all in good condition and all Giant Bikes (a good brand) It wasn't long until we got our first stop and drinking before 12 was a novelty :) Our guide wasn't the usual tour guide but he was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.. We drank quite a bit and finished the day feeling rather tipsy.. We had a great day, would happily recommend these guys and would even do it again if we found ourselves back in Stellenbosch..The cost of the tour, i feel is cheap for what you get from the day !! Thanks for a great day (we slept well that night)
We have done the 21 km guided Bike Tour on the 25th February 2014 with Wiliam (our Guide) and Stephanie. It was really great and we had the plasure. The Bikes were very good and clean.
Loved it. Recommended to all of my friends and they are all eager to give it a go. I said to save some money, not fly to France, and do it locally. This would be a good payoff line actually for you because I think it hits that trigger to do this and captivates the escape and the adventure without the cost. You may want to target local market, not sure which publications you would place adds in etc. I think there is a large opportunity for local growth. Also piece of mind was massive, and not having to make decisions. If I am organising a wine tour, I always need to be thinking about what is next, and what time we are leaving. I could, in this instance, just throw my watch away for the day. It was great that our guide was always phoning ahead and letting our hosts at the lunch location, and wines farms know we were coming etc. Distance between stops on the 21k route was good too.
The day tour in Stellenbosch was perfect. Our tour guide was Charles. At first, the day didn't start too well. The train broke down and we were stuck there for almost two hours. However, Charles was great and we talked about our different lives in the train. Then, he phoned the office and he arranged for a lady working there (forgot her name) to pick us up. When we arrived in Stellenbosch, we got on the bikes. The cycling and the wine tasting was absolutely amazing. Bikes'n Wines offered us a free bottle of wine for the train delay, which was a very nice gesture. At the end of the day, we even got a private drive back to Cape Town because of the train breakdown in the morning and it was pretty dark outside. So again, very nice gesture of Charles and Bikes'n Wines. We had a wonderful time with you guys. We made a review on tripadvisor too. Charles was a great guide, very funny, helpful and caring for his guests. My girlfriend and I can't wait to go back to South Africa and do another tour with Bikes'n Wines. 10/10 adventure. Thank you, Eric Camire
